Wild Food &
Mushroom ID — Kauai
Kauai's ancient rainforests are among the most biodiverse in Hawaii. Come learn what's growing in them.
The Garden Island's Wild Larder
Kauai's Na Pali coast and interior valleys receive some of the highest rainfall on Earth. The result: forests dense with native plants, naturalized edibles, and mycological life that most people never get close to.
This class takes you into Kauai's forest with Yuda as your guide — moving slowly, looking closely, and learning to read what the land is offering. You'll identify wild edible plants and mushrooms specific to Kauai's ecosystems, understand the ecological relationships between species, and leave with practical foraging skills.
The class runs on the accessible parts of Kauai's interior and valley forests — no extreme hiking, just attentive walking and deep observation.
